Why Batch

A proven high-volume model, built shop by shop

Batch started with one shop and a simple idea: great coffee, fast, with real service. Fifteen years on, the same owners run six sites that feed Sydney’s workforce every weekday. Between them, David and Nok bring 23 years of cafe ownership and 35 years in restaurants and cafes. We know the job is hands-on, so every system we hand a franchise partner has been built and tested on our own floors first.

Stress-tested

When the CBD emptied out in COVID, we didn’t close a single shop. We opened two more. While cafes all around us were shutting for good, Batch was one of the only operators opening new shops in the Sydney CBD. Every Batch stayed open, stayed staffed and stayed busy through the hardest years hospitality has seen. Then in 2025 we opened three more shops in three months, including Parkline, now our flagship and busiest shop: a takeaway coffee shop with a handful of seats, trading over $50k a week, and Westfield Sydney, home to our barista workshops and latte art competitions. That’s the model you’d be buying into.

Partners get the brand, the shop blueprint, the Campos Coffee supply (Batch is Campos’s biggest account in the Sydney CBD), the menus, the supplier network and the training program. And something no other coffee franchise offers: the full Batch digital management system.

The Batch blueprint

Workflow is what Batch is known for

Every Batch shop is designed around how it will actually trade during the peak. The flow comes first; the fit-out follows. A franchise shop is laid out to the same blueprint so it can do the volume from day one.

The coffee section

Every movement and every turn is broken down and mapped for each site before anything is drawn. Where the machine sits, how the grinder, fridge and till line up, how few steps a barista takes between orders.

Designed around the flow

The workflow is mapped first. Then the shop is designed to fit it. Never the other way round. The flow must feel intentional, to the team behind the counter and to the customer in front of it.

The queue and the wait

Where the line forms, where people stand while their coffee is made, and how both keep moving without blocking the door or the counter.

Line of sight that sells

The wait is a selling opportunity. The blueprint puts the pastries, the specials and the merch exactly where a customer’s eyes land while they wait.

Tuned to the site

Same Batch menu, every shop. But no two sites sell it in the same mix, so in the early weeks the work areas are tuned to what that site pulls most: more space, more stock and more hands where the demand is.

The proof

Parkline: a takeaway coffee shop with a handful of seats, no dining room, trading over $50k a week. That’s what the blueprint does.

The Batch digital management system

An all-inclusive system you can lean on

We spent years building the tools we wished existed when we opened our first shop. You run the floor and the team. The system carries the ordering, the compliance, the numbers and the training, so nothing falls through the cracks while you’re busy serving customers.

Tracking

Full sales & cost tracking

Daily sales, supplier invoices scanned and price-checked automatically, wastage and transfer logs. You see the numbers the same day, not at month end.

Coffee

Extraction data

Every shot pulled on the coffee machine is logged: dose, time, yield. You see when the coffee drifts off spec, on any shift, and it gets fixed before a customer tastes it.

Alerts

Alerts to your phone

Ordering reminders, compliance checks and daily reports arrive by text. If a cleaning schedule isn’t completed, a fridge is showing signs of warming, a supplier price moves or an order is late, you hear about it first, even mid-rush.

Ordering

Weekly ordering done

Your shop is linked to a fully online ordering app. Weekly orders go out with every supplier, size and price already set, and coffee in is checked against coffee out, with a text confirmation if the two don’t match.

People

Onboarding like no other

Every recipe, prep process, FOH and BOH standard and shop policy is a digital training module, completed, assessed and signed off before a staff member gets POS access. Nobody slips through untrained.

Coffee skills

Workshops & competitions

Barista workshops and latte art competitions run at Westfield Sydney, so your team learns the Batch way the same way ours does, and keeps sharpening it.

Compliance

Food safety built in

Four-hour display logs, fridge logbooks and daily checklists, all in the format councils expect, filled in on the floor.

Online

On the Batch website

Your shop is listed on batchespresso.com.au alongside ours. Catering orders are placed through the main site and paid directly into your account, so corporate catering lands in your shop without you building a thing.

Who we’re looking for

Passionate, hands-on and energised. If you’re willing to work, read on.

  • You want to be in the shop every day, know your regulars by name and run a tight, happy team.
  • You’ve got the energy to match the Batch vibe, every day.
  • You hold the coffee and the service to the same standard as the bottom line.
  • You’re in Sydney, or ready to be, with a site in mind or the drive to secure one.
  • You back a proven system and bring the work on the floor that makes it perform. This is not a passive investment.
